Hoy voy a compartir algunas de mis publicaciones en Spotify. ¡Espero que puedan ser útiles en el aprendizaje del inglés a través de canciones!

Una pequeña aula decorada como la cámara mortuoria de un faraón se convierte en una escape room en la que grupos de 6 alumnos tratan de resolver en 30 minutos los enigmas, misterios, acertijos y códigos necesarios para conseguir la llave que les permita salir y evitar la maldición del faraón Alephnull. Cuentan con la ayuda de una arqueóloga británica desaparecida en 1972, Katherine Clifton, que les ha dejado un vídeo con su testimonio y varias pistas para poder lograrlo. ¡Rápido! ¡Solo disponen de 30 minutos y la cuenta atrás ha empezado! Todo es en inglés y pueden recurrir a unos diccionarios si tienen dificultad para entender algún mensaje. Claro que... eso será si los encuentran...

OBJETIVOS: 1. Desarrollar la competencia lingüística utilizando estructuras y vocabulario adecuado para interactuar entre el grupo intercambiando ideas. 2. Colaborar en la resolución de problemas. 3. Desarrollar el proceso reflexivo y la toma de decisiones. 4. Motivar al alumnado mediante la gamificación. Edades: Esta actividad está preparada para alumnos desde 1º de la ESO a 2º de Bachillerato. Las pruebas se van complicando a medida que loa alumnos tienen mayor madurez. Los profesores también pueden llevarla a cabo ya que resulta my interesante interactuar con los compañeros en un ambiente diferente, colaborativo y lúdico. USING WIKIPEDIA IN YOUR COURSE.

Wikipedia formally began in January 2001, as a project to produce a free content encyclopedia to which anyone can contribute. Nine years later, Wikipedia pages seem to turn up near the top of almost every Google search. Wikipedia has become the first place millions of people go to get a quick fact or to launch extensive research.

I encourage you to use Wikipedia in your course. You may incorporate Wikipedia writing assignments into your classes. You are free to post questions for experienced Wikipedia volunteers at the talk page and share your experiences with them. Many of the projects have resulted in both advancing the student's knowledge and useful content being added to Wikipedia. "An advantage of this over regular homework is that the student is dealing with a real world situation, which is not only more educational but also makes it more interesting ("the world gets to see my work")". Wikipedia will give the students a chance to collaborate on course notes and papers, and their effort might remain online for reference, instead of being discarded and forgotten as is usual with paper coursework, or classroom systems which are routinely reinitialized. A USEFUL TOOL FOR YOUR WRITING EXERCISES.

Surfing the net I found a good Free Online Bilingual Dictionary that includes Word Magic Dictionary & Tools Professional (general reference English-Spanish bilingual dictionary), Medical Dictionary, the Law Dictionary, the Business & Finance Dictionary and the Computer & IT Dictionary.
The online bilingual Dictionary application here provided is a free service of Word Magic Software Inc. I think it is one of the most complete online bilingual and bidirectional English-Spanish dictionary on the web, showing not only direct translations but synonyms, complete definitions, set phrases, idioms, proverbs, usage examples, famous quotes and compound entries as well, all related to your entry word. On top of that, it offers English and Spanish pronunciation, separation into syllables and grammar attributes. It also accepts conjugated verbs and Spanish feminine and plural forms as valid entries.

Of course you can buy them as your personal software. There are probably many other benefits that are not covered here, as this program constantly changes, bringing us new ideas and additional solutions that help us on improving our English writing.

And please, don't think they are paying me for this advice.

Esta entrada la hago para agradecer también el consejo de Adolfo que nos propone incluir en este blog un portal dedicado a la enseñanza online y gratuita del inglés llamado Sherton English.

El nombre en sí no prometía mucho pero decidí investigar ya que los detalles sobre la web que aportaba Adolfo eran realmente impresionantes y, finalmente, ciertos.

Una vez registrado puedes acceder a las más de 700 lecciones (en las que accedes a links externos a la web seleccionados por su equipo) organizadas en un plan de 52 semanas. Posee cientos de páginas de gramática con explicaciones y ejemplos traducidos al español. Para acabar de convercernos basta saber que nuestros alumnos también podrán encontrar profesores de inglés en su propia ciudad que enseñan con este método (Eso sí, éstos ya cobran por sus clases)

Disponemos de una opción para que nos envíen a nuestro correo las lecciones. Es una manera de obligarnos a seguir el curso e impedir que se nos "olvide" ingresar en la web.

Realmente Sherton English parece ser uno de los mejores sitios para aprender inglés online.
